Have you ever felt like your entire life is measured in “before and afters”? Before the diet. After the diet. Before the slip up. After the guilt. For so many of us, food has become the loudest voice in the room, demanding our time, our energy, and even our joy.
I know that cycle well. I spent years chasing every new plan, every promise of quick results, every exercise program that claimed to fix me. They worked for a moment. But the weight always came back heavier, and my heart always sank lower. I was not just tired of dieting. I was tired of living a life ruled by shame, comparison, and disappointment.
Here is what changed everything for me. I realized that God never asked me to live chained to food. He never created me to battle my body every single day. His Word says, “So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free” (John 8:36 NLT). Freedom does not come from white knuckled willpower. It comes from surrendering what we were never meant to carry in the first place.
Why Diets Do Not Heal the Heart
Most diets only focus on food. They hand you rules, lists, and restrictions but rarely touch the deeper wounds. The truth is, food is not usually the root problem. It is often the way we cope with stress, rejection, fear, or loneliness. That is why even the perfect meal plan cannot fix what is broken inside.
Psychology shows us that our brains are wired by repetition. If we have believed lies like “I am not enough” or “I will always fail,” those thoughts carve deep grooves in our minds. But neuroscience also proves those pathways can be rewired. And God’s Word gives us the truth to do exactly that. Scripture tells us, “Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect” (Romans 12:2 NLT).
Healing starts when we stop chasing rules and start chasing renewal.
What Freedom Looks Like
Freedom with food is not about never struggling again. It is about knowing where to turn when you do. Instead of running to food for comfort, we run to the God who calls Himself the Comforter. Instead of shaming ourselves for slipping up, we learn to speak grace over our lives the way He speaks grace over us.
For me, freedom has meant:
No longer counting every calorie or fearing every bite
Quieting the negative voice in my head and learning to hear God’s truth instead
Learning that my worth is not tied to a number on a scale
Experiencing joy in everyday life without food constantly in the spotlight
That kind of transformation is not just possible, it is promised. Philippians 1:6 reminds us, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Where Coaching Comes In
This is where Made for More Coaching steps in. Coaching is not another diet. It is a partnership. It is walking side by side as we uncover the lies, rewrite the story with God’s truth, and build simple, sustainable rhythms that bring peace instead of pressure. Every session is Christ centered, grace filled, and focused on the whole person, body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
Together, we will explore:
The hidden roots of your food and body battles
The lies that have held you captive and the truth that sets you free
How to invite God into every part of your healing journey
Practical steps you can take to move forward in freedom, not frustration
You do not need another quick fix. You need a safe space to heal, tools to navigate triggers, and biblical truth to anchor your identity.
You Were Made for More
I believe with everything in me that God did not create you to live defeated. He created you for freedom, peace, and purpose. You were made for more than diets. More than food obsession. More than shame.
And the good news is that you do not have to do this alone. If something in your heart is stirring as you read this, consider this your invitation. Let us walk this journey together.
Are you ready to see what life looks like on the other side of diets and defeat? You were made for more, and I would be honored to help you discover it.
