Faith at the Foundation

Where Faith Meets Freedom

At Made for More Coaching, faith is not a side note. It is the starting place.

Many people try to fix their relationship with food by tightening control, creating stricter rules, or pushing themselves harder. But Scripture shows us a different way. Transformation does not begin with pressure. It begins with surrender.

This page is here to show you the spiritual foundation behind everything we do — and why your struggle with food and body image is not separate from your faith.

Freedom Through Faith

When You Love Jesus and Still Feel Stuck

There was a season where I loved Jesus deeply and still felt stuck in my struggle with food. I knew Scripture. I believed truth. But I had not yet surrendered this area fully.

At 34, I dedicated my life to Christ. At 37, He gently revealed the one area I was still gripping tightly and invited me into deeper healing — not just physical change, but heart and identity transformation.

That invitation changed everything.

I learned that food was never just about food. It was about control, comfort, fear, and unmet needs. And Jesus did not meet me with shame. He met me with truth and grace.

That is the foundation of this work.

The Truths That Guide This Work

Instead of listing beliefs, we anchor our work in living truths that shape how healing happens.

Freedom Through Faith

Truth Over Shame

Romans 8:1 tells us there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ.

Shame is one of the strongest drivers of destructive food cycles. It whispers that you failed again. It tells you to hide. It convinces you that you are the problem.

But condemnation is not from God.

Freedom begins when shame loses its authority and truth becomes louder.

Freedom Through Faith

Identity Over Image

1 Corinthians 6:19–20 reminds us that our bodies belong to God.

That truth is not meant to produce fear or pressure. It restores dignity. Your body is not a mistake to fix. It is not a project to perfect. It is part of how God designed you.

When identity becomes rooted in Christ instead of appearance, body hatred begins to loosen its grip.

Freedom Through Faith

Renewal Over Willpower

Romans 12:2 teaches that transformation happens through the renewing of the mind.

Food struggles are rarely solved through discipline alone. They are healed through new thinking patterns, new beliefs, and new responses to stress and emotion.

Renewal changes the way you see food.
Renewal changes the way you see yourself.
Renewal changes the way you respond.

Freedom Through Faith

Freedom Over Control

John 8:36 says that if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

Control feels safe. Diet rules feel structured. Restriction feels powerful for a moment. But lasting freedom does not come from tighter control. It comes from trusting Christ with the places we are afraid to release.

Freedom is not perfection.
It is living anchored in Him even while growth continues.

How Faith Shapes Our Coaching

Faith is not used here to minimize struggle or silence emotion. It is used to strengthen you within it.

In our work together, we:

• Invite God into every conversation
• Pray when appropriate
• Reflect on Scripture
• Challenge lies with truth
• Build practical, psychology-informed tools
• Practice grace in real-time setbacks

This is not about becoming “more spiritual” to earn healing. It is about allowing God to lead the process instead of fighting alone.

What If This Is the Area He Wants to Heal?

If you have ever wondered why this struggle still exists in your life, even though you love God, consider this:

Maybe this is not proof of failure.
Maybe it is an invitation.

An invitation into deeper surrender.
An invitation into renewed identity.
An invitation into healing that goes beyond physical change.

God is not intimidated by your patterns.
He is not frustrated with your progress.
He is present.

Freedom Through Faith

An Invitation to Surrender

If your faith feels connected to your struggle with food and identity, you are not imagining that. God is not separate from this part of your life. He wants to meet you in it.
