Anchored in Christ, An October Roadmap to Food and Body Freedom
Happy October, everyone!
As the seasons shift, October feels like the perfect time for a fresh start. Many chase diet trends or health fads, but they fall short. That is why I created the Anchored in Christ October Roadmap. This Christ centered guide is designed to help you break free from diet culture and find lasting food and body freedom through faith based coaching and Scripture.
Why We Need a Roadmap for October
When struggles with food, body image, and self worth rise to the surface, it is easy to get swept up in striving. We push harder, make stricter rules, and expect perfection. But God never asked us to live this way. Without direction, we drift from His truth and get pulled back into old habits.
A Christ centered roadmap keeps us anchored. It provides a clear path that leads us away from shame and toward freedom in Christ. In faith based coaching, I remind clients often that transformation is not about striving harder. It is about learning to surrender and let God lead. This roadmap for October is meant to help you do exactly that.
Anchored in Christ
The theme for this month is simple but powerful: Anchored in Christ. An anchor holds firm in the middle of a storm. It keeps a ship from drifting when waves rise and winds howl. In the same way, Jesus is the anchor for our souls.
Hebrews 6:19 says, “This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls”. When your identity and hope are anchored in Him, you cannot be defined by diets, the scale, or the world’s standards. You are defined by His love and His truth.

Shifting the Focus from Diet Culture to Jesus
Instead of putting your focus on the next diet or wellness trend, this month is a chance to shift your eyes to Jesus. He is the one who renews your mind and gives you strength. Diet culture will always demand more and leave you with less. Jesus offers living water that satisfies completely.
Romans 12:2 reminds us, “Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think”.
When you invite God into your relationship with food and your body, you begin to experience real freedom. That freedom is not rooted in willpower. It is rooted in Christ. How to Walk Anchored in Christ This October
Here are seven simple reminders for walking through October anchored in Christ:
Open your heart daily in prayer and invite God to speak into your struggles.
Cast your burdens on Him instead of trying to carry them alone.
Trust His Word over lies that come from diet culture, shame, or comparison.
Overcome with grace when setbacks happen, knowing His mercy is new every morning.
Build small daily habits of faith that point you back to Him.
Embrace your identity in Christ as chosen, loved, and free.
Renew your mind with Scripture and remind yourself of His truth each day.
You can find additional tools and support for these practices in my Christian coaching sessions and through my signature coaching programs.

A Prayer for October
Lord, thank You for being my anchor in every season. Teach me to rest in You when I feel weary and to trust Your Word when lies try to take over. Help me walk in Your freedom and embrace my identity in Christ. I know You will carry me through every storm. Amen.
Final Encouragement
As you step into October, remember this truth. You do not have to fall for diet trends or quick fixes. You can fall into the arms of Jesus and let Him carry the weight you were never meant to bear.
Freedom is not found in what you eat, how you look, or how perfectly you perform. Freedom is found in Jesus. He is your anchor, your sustainer, and your safe place. This month, let Him hold you steady and lead you forward in grace.
As you walk the Anchored in Christ October Roadmap, remember that true freedom is not in diets, body image, or performance. It is in Christ alone. If you are ready to go deeper, I invite you to book a discovery call and take the first step toward faith based food freedom
